Purpose
The purpose of the Calorie Log page is to record a user's daily caloric intake and provide feedback as to when they are gaining or losing weight.
Data recorded on the Calorie Log page is used as a feedback mechanism on the Reporting page. It also acts as a reminder for users to watch the calories they consume.
NOTE: You can use the
Meal Planner feature to quickly enter multiple food items from your diet.
NOTE: You can use the
Add Food dialog to add food items not currently available.
Features
With the Detailed Calorie Log tab, a user can accurately track their daily caloric intake and gauge that against how much they should be consuming based on their age, height, weight, sex and activity level.
The user can easily enter their meals from thousands of food items. They can either search for food in the database, select food from those they previously entered, select an entire meal from the database, or enter one-time items if their caloric content is known. If an food item is not found in the database, a user can enter the new item which can then be seen by any other user.
The Calorie Log displays a running total of calories consumed throughout the day. It also displays the approximate number of calories the user must consume to maintain their current weight. The third item displays whether the user is gaining or losing weight so far that day.
